My Classroom

Kids started this week so life has been super busy.  I have twice as many students this year as I had last year.  I am still praying for some additional help.  But until that happens, I have a wonderful room to share with all of my kiddos!  My classroom was inspired by all of the amazing blogs that I have been reading and my 1st grader's great sense of style.  I especially love Schoolgirl Style.  She is amazing!

This table is right across from the door so it's one of the first things you see when you enter my room.  It is also the table that collects all of the junk, paper, and holds all of my OT supplies.  The OT supplies are now neatly hidden behind my table skirt that I made.  I simply used industrial strength Velcro to attach it around the top of the table.   Now I can easily remove it to throw it in the wash.

This is the curtain on my door.  I made it to match the table skirt. (My daughter is begging me to do her room with these curtains with a matching quilt.  I'm thinking it will make a great a great Christmas present!)

This is a small board right by my door.  I have my behavior clips on it.  My calendar is beside it.

This is my "How I get home from school" board.  I also used clothes pins so that they can be moved easily if students change how they are going home.

I have a huge board that I keep my standards and rules on.  Here are the rules.

Here's the standards that we are working on.

This is the far wall.  I made a "Reading Rocks" banner.

Here's a close up of the banner.  You can grab the banner here.  It has all letters of the alphabet included so you can make it say anything you want!  You can check out my zebra print banner, too.

Here's a close up of my book shelves that are under my "Reading Rocks!" banner.

 Student supplies for group work.

If you love black and white, I also have this cute chevron theme ready to go. You can check it by clicking on the picture.

I would love to see your classrooms.  Leave a link in the comments and I'll stop by and visit!

    1. Shari, you are so sweet. I'm really starting to stress out about all of the paperwork and TCAP-Alts that I will be required to complete. Pray that another teacher will be sent to help. I love all of my kiddos and want what is best for them.

  3. WONDERFUL! I love your charm! May I ask, how did you get your How We Get Home circle to stay up without the clothespins weighing them down? SMILES!

    1. They are attached to the board with a thumbtack on the top of each circle. I also threaded a heavy string through all of the circles and attached the string to the board at each end. I was surprised it stayed up, bus so far it hasn't moved. :)
